We're in the money (sort of)

According to the MLB press release, the Nationals have been sold to a local group headed by a former top exec of the Braves and the Lerners, who own most of the other sports teams in that area:  http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060503&content_id=1431114&a mp;vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

According to the press release, the sales price is $450M, which works out approximately to $15M per team (slightly above since this is split between the other 29 team I would presume).  Hopefully this will be used by the Giants to add to their budget for one year, hopefully this year, and they can trade for someone with a big salary and is a big producer.  I'll bet the team pockets it though.

Interesting that Jerry Reinsdorf helped out with the negotiating for the 30-year lease for the Nationals, right around the same time his team battled for and won for the first time in, like, forever.

Think it would help if Magowan, say, sent a shipment of grocery to Selig's mansion?  He can throw in the WebVan signage and use one of their old vans to deliver it cold.
