Feliz name co-NL Player of the Week
Just saw it:
I still cringe everytime he comes up to bat, but he did pretty well this past week and I'm happy for him.

Interesting that Matt Cain was included in the vote, I wonder if he would have won had he thrown a no-hitter instead.

Jason Giambi won it last year for the AL, I wonder if Barry can keep it uh... going all season long.

On the other hand, Greg Pappas seems to bend over backwards to include a mention of all the corporate sponsors: "...and Finley catches it in front of the Visa sign and in a tangential line to the Yahoo! scoreboard sign."

I know this is treason....
Giants were lucky to get him a few years ago.
Re: I know this is treason....
Incidentally, I thought Papa was great when he broadcast the Warriors games. You want to talk about crappy play-by-play guys with nasal-y voices that drive me batshit? Two words: Tim Roy.
Re: I know this is treason....
As the Giants' equivalent of a fifth outfielder, we could do a lot worse. (I'm talking about YOU, Tim McCarver!)
Yes, we're spoiled.

Yeah...
Statistically he had a great week, but watching it, it just was more of the same.
Re: Yeah...
He hit a grand slam in the third inning of a 4-0 game... it's kind of a stretch to call this "a home run with an 8 run lead."
Feliz singled in a run in the first inning to make the score 2-0; he would later score.
He had an RBI single in a 6-1 game which was still in doubt since it was only the fourth inning.
He stunk up the joint all weekend in Oakland, but his one hit was a key single in a game-winning rally in extra innings, and his third inning walk led to a big inning yesterday.
And it's more than a good week statistically... he's hitting .314/.336/.585 over the last month.
Given his track record, we can expect to see "more of the same" any time now, but this is a legitimate month-long hot streak. We might as well enjoy it.
Yeah I know...
