NL West Projections

If you're looking for one more look at what players may or may not do in 2006 (for fantasy purposes, or just to see who is where), be sure to check out my 2006 Projections for the NL West. (I have some very positive outlooks for several Giants hitters) It is Part 4 of my Fantasy Perspectives.

Re: NL West Projections
If they don't get injured, I think most of the projections are very reasonable.  I think Bonds won't play that much, though.

Re: NL West Projections
Yeah, injuries are impossible to really predict, but all projections are really just guesses, right? Guesses based on watching a lot of ball, trying to follow trends, noting age and things like that.

As for Bonds, I figured that he should play no more than four of every five games. He should get a day off a week, maybe more early in the season.

Re: NL West Projections
What'll be interesting to see with Bonds' playing time is how it comes.  If he leaves a lot of games after 6 innings or so, does that mean he'll appear in more actual games?  As a ticket-holder, I like that approach more since I'm more likely to see him play, but when he doesn't start, there's always the threat of him pinch-hitting that opposing teams have to think about.

Re: NL West Projections
I apologize for messing that up!

Good point on Bonds playing time. I don't mind the take him out when the game is in hand philosophy at all.

The thing is that it is almost impossible to try to accurately predict his plate appearances per game, and that's a lot of where you come up with the other numbers.

Actually, you didn't hotlink it, so I took it upon myself to do so...poorly.
