Re: Merry Christmas
Have a satisfactory non-denominational, capitalist wintertime, gift-giving season.

Grinch
To my friends who don't celebrate it, I say "happy Chinese Food eating day." I still have to do the song and dance with my family every year but I am hoping that comes to an end soon.

I'm not a complete Grinch, as I'd like to host my friends and others for an Orphan Christmas where we all cook fabulous food, drink too much, watch sports on TV, and pass out from overindulgence. Way better than dealing with family drama.

Ho ho ho.

Read SFDugout. It'll make you a better person.

Re: Grinch
My family thinks I'm a grinch.  We do celebrate Christmas.  I enjoy the decorations, music, socialization.  I even enjoy doing nice things for others.  I absolutely hate the pressure to get gifts for everybody and the worry over whether they will appreciate it or not.  I figure if you have to worry about whether they will appreciate it, they probably don't need it.  I would much rather celebrate with a quiet family dinner, music, maybe some singing, maybe a religious service and donate the gift money to a charity.

Wishing All A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
This year have been fortunate to find this site (by chance).  Appreciate all the knowledge, wisdom, wit and sarcasm.  May all enjoy their Holiday and be safe.  A new year springs a new season, may we all enjoy the 2007 baseball season.

Re: Merry Christmas
On Christmas Day I will be on a plane to NYC -- where my dad swears I'll see Derek Jeter in line at a club -- and I'll be frantically reading baseball books in an attempt to get to 40 (not 50). Only three left, so this thing will be done. I am also staring at my brand-new Giants ornament on my Christmas tree. Hope you all have happy holidays!

2 questions about the model
Would you mind if I called her?
Secondly, if she's unavailable, can she at least play first base?
Once more unto the breach, dear friends (where "breach" = another meaningless October.)

Ever seen UHF?
Movie of his from late 80s early 90s, pretty funny.  Has some nice acting from Michael Richards a.k.a. Kramer in a Kramer like part.
