We need to figure this out. If this batch of degenerates can get together $800 we should use that money toward a memorable gift. We can do charity on our own time, or if we want to have a seperate charity drive let's do that in another thread. This is gift time. Grant provides us with great writing and a place for the community, and all he gets are free poker pads and complimentary scan of his PC.
That's why I like the OED idea. You keep it for your whole life, and it's expensive enough that you wouldn't buy one normally. And we know Grant likes grammar, etc. Any aspiring writer should have one.
But, regardless, it's time to put this to a vote. Here are the rules: only people contributing to the fund can vote. If your name isn't on that most updated list in the previous thread, and you want to vote, please note that you want to contribute and how much. Whichever gift wins, that's what we buy. When we figure out the winning gift, we'll figure out paypal or appoint someone trustworthy to collect checks. I assume there's only a few people on this site who know or can acquire Grant's home address. So, let the voting begin, and then let's figure out the collecting.
