An espn source says the Jays are near a 126 million dollar deal with Wells [not the fat one].

Personally, I am not entirely sold on Wells yet - I would want to see one more very good half year before signing him to an extension.

BP's Goldstein has his top 10 Phillies Prospects.

Yanks want to see medical records before offering a deal to Doug Mientkiewicz.

Mets interested in Ruben Sierra on a minor league deal. (Maybe Sabes has changed his way if he is not intereseted in this guy?)

Red Sox acquired Brendan Donnelly from the Angels for Phil Seibel.

Four teams have apparently offered Jayson Werth a major league contract.

does anybody else think it makes sense to give jason werth a go? I hated that S.O.B. on the dodgers and have never looked at his stats, but hey i know he has some pop.

I'm going to miss Bagwell. Never seen anyone hit quite like that.

With his big comeback in 2006, Frank Thomas has permanently passed Bagwell, at least as a hitter. The two were born on the same day and they rank, what, 4-5 on the all-time list of best first basemen?
