The Who!

Out of curiosity, did anyone else see the who last night at the hp pavillion in san jose? I did. And then drove back for class at 9am the next day. Hooray for middle of the week concerts. But it was worth it. Very much worth it.

PS. Grant, the money is in the t-shirts. 35-80 dollar t-shirts.

Awesome show! The little woman and I were there with the free tickets I won for singing on KNBR and made it to an *am meeting this morning!

Though I'm not wild about the new album (although the new songs sounded better live), they're still my all-time favorite band...by a wide margin.

I feared that at 60+, they might be mailing it in, but they really gave it their all. Pete was especially brilliant on "Eminence Front" and "Sparks". Roger's voice has seen better days, but he still brought it for "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Who Are You", "My Generation" and "Can't Explain".

That's the second time I've seen them at SJ Arena, a great place to see concerts. The acoustics seem especially good for an arena.

The arena is a pretty good place for concerts. Even sitting about as far away as possible (section 206 row 16), I think it was still closer than the first time I saw them at the Shoreline Amphitheater right after Entwistle died.

As for the new songs, I liked them enough that I think I'll investigate the new album.

I was there as well. I am a Who novice, and in my naivete I thought they might be too old to rock out with their...you know. Goofus hit in on the head though. Pete tore it up, Roger was pretty good, and it was a great venue. The crowd was into it, they did 2 encores, and I saw more 50 year old people smoking pot last night then I have in my entire life. Two Bongs Up!

Didn't see it but it would have been nice to see

Wish I would have gone to the Kihncert when they played it.

And I can't say they're the best band ever, great though.

I blame F.P. Santangelo, while F.P. somehow blames Kuiper.

I wanted to go, but I spent all my money on hookers and blo-, er, school supplies. Seriously though, it would've been awesome to go. I hope I can get another chance in the future.

You'll probably think I'm whacked , but "Sandinista" is one of my favorite albums.(Yep...it's vinyl.)

And I've got a few...
...and I saw The Best Band Ever in '81. And though they played here (Phoenix) just the other night , I wouldn't see 'em now. Nor buy any of their al - er , CDs...they've sucked since "Tattoo You"

The funny thing is that if they'd only cut Sandinista! down to a single album, or even a double, there would be no argument about it being a great album. What were they thinking?
