Re: Giants Coaching Staff
Personally, I would love to see a quasi-"all-of-the-above" situation:

Pitching coach: Dave Righetti
Bullpen coach: Mark Gardner
Bullpen catcher Mike Matheney
Hitting coach: Dusty Baker
1B coach: Will Clark
3B coach: Chris Speier
Bench Coach: Robby Thompson
Manager: Ron Wotus

I voted for Mike Matheney in the poll, not because I realistically think a guy with post-concussion syndrome should be catching in the bullpen, but because I think he could be a future manager.

The Giants need to get some of that Thompson & Clark mojo going within the organization. The orange and black have already lost Ned Colletti, Bob Melvin, Bob Brenley, and Matt Williams to other organizations. Come home, all ye Giants of lore.

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
Butler I still think of as a Dodger.

I'd love to see Will and Thompson as a part of the organization somehow.  I don't care what they do.  Just have Will sit in the box with McCovey and throw some F-Bombs around every once in a while.

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
I'd love for Mike Matheny to join the front office or "staff" in some fashion if his mental acuity improves. I assume that it's the physical exertion that exacerbates the concussion syndromes and not normal activity.

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
I would love to see Felipe Alou improve Dominican in-roads for the Giants, and scout and sign lots of Latin talent over the next decade.
Felipe drove all of us nuts with the bullpen shenanigans, but perhaps the old man could establish a pipeline of promising young players. Let's face it, the Giants scouting efforts and talent development with position players couldn't get much worse.

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
Would most like to see JT come back into the org teaching guys how to field starting with teaching EME how to play 1B.

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
more importantly, let's get rid of Lefebvre, bring in Thrill or dusty to take his place, and dump Rags if we can find a suitable replacement.  I'm sick of guys getting worse when they join the Giants.  And I know that 9/10ths (OLD) of the (OLD) problem there (OLD) has been our (OLD) personnel (OLD) choi(OLD)ces, but as far as staff every little bit should be helping us, and it hasn't with those two.

Many good coaching ideas mentioned already
Mike Matheny in any capacity. Like the idea of JT as roving fielding coach. Wouldn't mind a new hitting coach, a coach who stresses the value to hitting to ALL fields. Wouldn't mind if Bochy brought his successful pitching coach from SD.

Re: Good choice
Wow, since the season ended Moggeee is a hit a minute. Top form, from the bottom up.

I just have one question, though. Hitting like that, do you take many walks? Because I know this team....

Re: Giants Coaching Staff
My opinion is thus:

I'd love to see any of the following: Will Clark, Robby Thompson, Mike Matheny, or J. T. Snow - and especially Matheny as a team coach of some kind and Snow as a Rover.

I need to see Lefaavvvraay gone, replaced by anybody with a brain.

But I voted for Matheny. Gotta say, I love the guy.
