My trip to Busch Stadium

A family gathering had me in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, and we all took in a game at the new Busch on 09/25.  It's a sight to behold - it's built much like AT&T, has a great view of downtown St. Louis (much like PNC in Pittsburgh), has a fabulous looking scoreboard, and is very RED.  They played the Padres and lost 6-5.  It was actually pretty cool when Jim Edmonds, like him or not, hit a pinch-hit 3-run dong to tie the game.

Here I am sporting the McCC threads, as well as my "salary cap."

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
Sensitive, seemingly wise-ass (but not) question:

Did you see any non-white people in Busch Stadium (not including employees)?

I get the impresssion, watching in recent years, that the place is 99.99999999999% white (even moreso than Mays Field).

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
I thought the same thing watching the game at Yankee Stadium the other day on TV.  Seems like the only non-white dude there was Denzel Washington.  And this is New York!  Very surprising.

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
Fenway was pretty white as well.  Aside from Jennifer, I saw maybe 5 black people in the crowd.

Thanks for sharing the pic.  If this place adds a photo album, it's be cool to get an McC shirt pic at every ballpark.

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
Fenway I get, because that city is pretty white (I lived there, and for a guy who grew up in DC, it felt weird).  But New York?

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
I saw more "color" at Yankee stadium (and even more at Shea) when I was there during the regular season.  Maybe the demographics change when the ticket prices go up come playoff time.

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
I'll bet the demographics of season ticket holders (who get the playoff tix) are really different.

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
The crowd at Mays Field is pretty diverse whenever I go, but maybe that's just me.
Out of my way, all of you. This is no place for loafers! Join me or die! Can you do any less?

John:

That T-shirt looks handsome on you, and hides your stutter well.

You are far too k-k-k-k-k-kind.
Mighty Casey would have taken Armando Benitez deep.

I love the "salary cap", by the way -- great idea!

Re: My trip to Busch Stadium
I got that from the Cooperstown Ballcap Co.  With my size 8-1/8 melon, that place is a godsend.

I got a Springfield Isotopes cap from them as well.
