Bochy nickname

I thought Wotus had more nickname possibilities but now that Bochy is the clay we've been handed, let the name moulding begin. Botchy is an obvious choice, though probably not the best, for when he screws up but (I dream on) what if we start winning?

As far as giant head references go, I really like Zardoz. I haven't seen the movie in more than 20 years but I remember watching it with equal measures of bafflement and hilarity.

The problem I'm having is that the words we're guessing are 6 and 3 letters, while the ones I immidiately thought of were 7 and 4, respectively.

Mitch Richmond was the best player in the game, but you couldn't really go wrong with Pippen and BJ Armstrong, right?

I was always partial to the Hornets with Mourning and Grandmama or the Sonics with Gary payton and Shawn Kemp.  Of course the Bulls with Pippen and the secret code for MJ couldn't be stopped.

Re: Bochy nickname
He was born in France, so maybe:

Frenchy
Froggy
Maurice
Cheeser
Gino da Pinot
Franque
Baguette for Brains
Manager du Jour
Garcon
Choke Monsieur

by leewhee on Oct 28, 2006 1:24 PM PDT reply actions

I've whittled it down to four from your list
Frenchy
Froggy
Cheeser
Baguette for Brains
(it will help us with the transition)

Interesting you brought up the French, because I was just thinking of the Spanish:

El Bocho

This also got me to thinking about using current nicknames as a jumping off point, from where I got this, but nothing else:

Bochtanic (a la Hindenburg)

A few more, kind of lame ones, also come to mind:

The Bruce
Bruce Crotchy
Il Boccino
(in this same vein: Il Pallino, Piggy, and Jack)

And then I'm a particular fan of:

¡Zardoz!

Re: Bochy nickname
I was thinking along these lines and spent half an hour searching the web to find out what Mr Potato Head is called in French. Rather unspectactularly, he is known as "M. Patate" which doesn't really have the necessary je ne sais quoi for a managerial nickname.
