Would you take Bonds in October?
Ok. The Giants actually have a minute chance to make it into October. 1 in a million but it's not impossible. Here's the question I pose to you: If Barry Bonds miraculously gets better and wants in on the playoffs, would you take him? Before you say "Hell yes!" consider the fact that he hasn't contributed a single thing to the ballclub all season. Consider that IF the Giants get into the playoffs, they did it themselves, fighting tooth and nail with the scrappiest team in all of baseball. Does he deserve to get the glory in post-season? Think about it. I'm a hypocrite. I'd say "hell yes!"

No.
Even if he was ready, no. He wouldn't be ready for baseball, just ready to be there.

Yes
And no, you don't give anyone else that chance. Because this is Barry, and no one else does the things he can do, you put him in the lineup.

Schulman's column just hit the gate
Shortstop Omar Vizquel spoke for many when he said of Bonds, "If he's not going to play, I hope his presence won't be a distraction for what we need to be doing over the last couple of weeks."Did not think of it that way. I guess it's kind of like a father who wants to reunite with his son after never being there to see him grow up. As a player on the Giants, I'd be pretty pissed if Bonds shows up just to draw attention to himself. Especially since he's been hiding behind his fucking website for the entire year. Come to play this season or don't come at all. He's too much of a distraction.
