State Your Worst All Star Shite

I have to vent.  There is just too much hype around all of the major sports' All Star Games.  Fucking Home Run Derby.  The embarassment that is the celebrity softball game, yikes.  I didn't see it but Tolbert just said that Piazza and Johnny Damon were prancing around and singing on stage together.  Fucking A, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Ted Williams are intentionally rolling over in their graves trying to get a leg above ground to kick those guys asses right now.  (Well, Ted figuratively anyway, I am not actually sure what they did to his walking sticks.)

Everything has to be so overhyped, and it gets worse every year.  From what I hear I am really glad I did not see the NBA Finals pregame shows.  Jesus, it makes me long for the days when even the Super Bowl had a one hour pre-game, which seemed ridiculous back then.  There is so much whoring going on here... I need a shower.

AS Game
Man when I was a kid I loved the All-Star game.  I didn't care if the final score was 1-0 in 16 inings, those teams played to win.  I remember Marichal pitching 3 shutout innings to open the game.  Willie Mays scoring from first in the first inning to score the only run of the game.  Willie McCovey hitting 2 HR's in St Louis to lead the NL to victory.  Bobby Bonds starred in at least one AS Game.

The All-Star game has become a joke.  I haven't watched one in years and I have no desire to.

What a prick.  Made me dislike him even more.  The funny thing is I was reading it while I was watching the Giants/Cards game on ESPN.

What upsets me even more is that since the national audience doesn't get to hear Miller on local broadcasts, they probably don't appreciate how good he is.
