"The deals we will be looking for is for someone coming here who has a future," Sabean said. "Given the circumstances, we're going to be open to anything."
I couldn't be happier that the Giants are looking to shake things up although I think many of us would have argued for this in the offseason particularly in the bullpen.
I'm pleased that Foppert is coming up, I'm excited to see what Taschner and Munter can do and hope to see Linden up shortly HOWEVER.....
If Sabean is looking for someone who has a future why the heck did he trade Williams and Aardsman (two 23 year olds) for LaTroy Hawkins? I wish I had the power to make Sabean answer this question.
Despite my pleas to restructure this team I still haven't given up hope if Bonds returns quickly but I think we will always regret making the trade that we did.
PS--I really liked Jim Brower but I am totally amazed that Livan lasted with the Nationals longer than Brower did with the Giants. I remember reading an article a number of years ago while Livan was still with the Giants saying that Livan needed a change of scenery every couple of years to remain effective. I have no idea if that is true or why it would be and I don't miss him but Wow!!
