WHEN will Morris be signed?

Ok. So it's us or the Cards. I'm not familiar with signing deadlines, arbitration, etc, but as far as I know, with the Cards offering arbitration, Morris can take his sweet time making a decision about clubs. So WHEN will he make his decision?  So let's see...

Re: WHEN will Morris be signed?
He has to sign with the Cards by Jan 8, at the latest.

Re: WHEN will Morris be signed?
Actually, Morris already told the St. Louis papers he will NOT be going back to them.

Re: WHEN will Morris be signed?

Take a look at
the Morris diary four down from this one. All the information is being updated there.

I don't know why this diary was posted separately here when the information about Morris narrowing it down to two teams (SF and apparently the Reds) already appeared down there...

Re: WHEN will Morris be signed?
I plan to sign Morris today, even if it involves forging his autograph on a cocktail napkin.

After that's done, I'm going to pray to the Gods of Pitching that Morris' K/9 rate rebounds this year.

Re: WHEN will Morris be signed?
His K/9 rate was actually pretty good until the final couple of months, the more I look at his monthly performances, the more it looks like it was related to fatigue from missing spring training and the beginning of the season because of the surgery and recovery.  And his last two starts in the regular season were good, plus his first start of the playoffs.  And he wasn't that bad in his losing start of the playoffs, just off, take away two hits and he would have been good.

Of course, I'm no doctor, I only play one in my blog (Hellooo Nurse!), does anyone have a subscription to Baseball Prospectus and see what Ol' Doc Will has to say about Morris' condition?
